Alstott will be gone from Tampa, without question. He's due to count $4mil against the cap this year, and the only cap hit they will take from his outright realease is the remaing original signing bonus around $1mil.
Alstott has redone his contract so many times, it's just to that point now. I think his normal salary for the year would be around $1.4mil, which is in the bigger years of the contract.
So while he's been so called over-rated, he really hasn't been over-paid. He's an exciting powerful runner, and basically my favorite Buc. He's been all heart for that team, and a real team first guy.
Life is good though, now we won't have to face Alstott or Williams.
