oh, there's no doubt Johnson should be one of the two starters. I'm also not against him being the right end. Brown's more suited to the right side, but it logistically makes more sense to swap Brayton to Brown.

Either way, my point is more that Brown was our second best pass rusher despite having less sacks than the others. With Peppers gone, I do believe he's our best guy rushing.

maybe if they can get a number of FAs out the door, but if they keep guys like Moose, Wesley, and even Vincent, Peppers may be their only real FA out there. I don't think their motivation is "compensation is better than making this team better" but they haven't signed a Lucas deal in years. edit- I'll add, given the terrible FA class that's out there and what's there at our need spots, I have a hard time seeing them make a big move anyway.

Maybe not. Perhaps they get a guy to play on run downs and swap Brown in on pass downs. Then again Meeks does not seem to mind having small DEs. Either way though I expect Brown to get lots of playing time next year.

If there's a lockout, do the players get paid? Or not?

If we have to pay them I don't see any big acquisitions this year or next.

If it's guaranteed they get paid if not then no and a lockout won't accrue time towards free agency, I believe.

That's one of the reasons we should bring Brayton back.

Back out there, that knee appears to be a permanent issue now.

I doubt the medical staff gets any heat- most team physical's are a sham, if a team wants someone bad enough the player gets passed.

$8 mil playing zero snaps is a lot of money.
