You can gain the rest by restructuring Gross and Peppers.

I'm talking about the Charlotte Observer article that listed our cap figure. which theoretically became $98.0m when we tagged Foster.

I don't think our cap number is near that high.

I'd say Rucker's pretty critical. You might wish for a few more sacks, a la his 2001-2003 days, but he's still pressuring the QB and he's definitely a big reason we're stopping the run. For a one gap team, we do control the LOS with both our ends and tackles very well, and Rucker's a big part of that. I don't believe were all that good at RDE with just Wallace, or starting over with a draft pick.

Plus, starting over at LDT and assumably WLB, I'd really rather lose a good RDE, too.

I think it was 98 before Foster. But that could be total for the year, not March 1st.

Cut Short and Davis, resturcture Peppers, and you are under.

Per ESPN but I have no idea what Foster's impact is here:

Please note, this list will change rapidly as teams begin cutting players over the next day to get under the salary cap by Thursday's 4 p.m. ET deadline (4 ET is the end of the NFL's business day, and no player can be cut after the close of business).

    Over the salary cap
    Carolina Panthers $12.7 million

Now we see how ludicrous it was to talk about signing someone like Alexander.

This, even a casual fan like me knew about. I absolutely HATE losing his experience. Is there any chance we keep him around at a lower price? If not, can we find a clipboard for him?
