And that's my biggest problem with them. Besides their immense self-promotion of how much they feel they're worth and their 50 ads to every 2 words of actual "news", is that they're grudgy, and try to be funny and fail literally almost every time.

I sure as hell read PFT before I would read SI. I do like Peter King a little. Even ESPN Insider is only marginally better, but that is due to the analysis which PFT doesn't claim anyway. If you take PFT with a grain of salt and as an initial indicator needing more verification, it is the best out there.

And by the way, they were dead on about the Vince Young Wonderlic episode both in the intial score, the retest, and the rescore of the first test.

That was one of the initial rumors put forward by PFT to cover their mistake, but it was also proven to be untrue. The test was graded correctly the first time, according to accounts, although no one has released what that score was. They've only stated that it was higher than a 6.

And yes, PFT does try to be funny, but they also have enormous egos and pretend like they have sources. I have a big ego too, but I actually know something about football. They don't. Anyone who reads them is simply indulging in ignorance, but most people go anyway because they don't know any better and because they find it entertaining. Like magnus, I don't get that last part either.

PFT is for morons. If you read it and give any credence to what they have to say, I'll let you guess what that says about you.

 

A lot of their stuff seeems to make its way onto forums everywhere but I never had been there before today that I could remember. Just went to see what all the fuss was about. I found what I quoted above in their "About Us" page. Basically, they accept any rumor as true and repeat it with no attempt to verify. Even a blind squirrel finds a nut once and a while, and every once in a while , one of those rumors comes to pass and they claim a scoop. The same happens by many members on many message boards.

 

That was meant to be a generic "you," not a comment directly to "blackcatfan."

 

People who dismiss rumor sites that are more often right than wrong out of pure ego are the real morons.

Being clueless can ruin credibility. But so can being a total asshole.

 

If you're interested in tracking credibility, yours just expired. Even the people on this board who like PFT admit that it's a guilty pleasure and acknowledge that they're wrong far more often than they're right. Hell, you're such an idiot that you actually wrote that PFT was "dead on about the Vince Young Wonderlic episode." They got pretty much everything wrong about that, genius. They were wrong initially and they were wrong when they tried to cover up their bullshit with the excuse that the initial test was graded incorrectly.
