It was never going anywhere in the first place.

 

I knew that, that's why I had the . . . Bruton gave the local press something to talk about for awhile and that's it

 

I wish he would take the track and the redneck museum out of the state altogether. It's an embarrassment to educated people.

 

I've said it before and I'll say it again...Bruton Smith is the greatest self promoter this area has ever seen. Every time he has a race coming up at his track he does something to keep his name in the papers and like clockwork the media salivates over and breathlessly reports everything he says. After his race nothing comes of anything he says he's going to do and everyone moves on with their lives until the next time there's a race in town.
