    update from Wednesday's practice...

    CHARLOTTE -- Carolina Panthers coach John Fox said that 44-year-old Vinny Testaverde will start at quarterback this Sunday against the New Orleans Saints.

    Also, wide receiver Steve Smith returned to practice on Wednesday and is likely to play.

    Running back DeShaun Foster (toe), defensive tackle Damione Lewis (shoulder) and cornerback Chris Gamble (thumb) did not practice. Gamble had surgery to repair a broken thumb on Tuesday. He'll probably play this week, but expect his thumb to be heavily wrapped.

    Vinny is the number 1 for the remainder of the season, barring injury of course.

    I keep hearing Vinny is older than fuck. Is there any truth to this rumor?

    according to Fox, Vinny is the guy, barring injury. Carr is the backup. moore is the 3.
