I really like da guy as a talent. Boss has great speed and can fit perfectly on the weakside in coverage and on da blitz. I think this guy is gonna be a star in the league. The front seven would look sick and OLB is a big need IMO. I don't think a guy with his ability can be seen as a reach at #9. He can play.

If Gross, Leftwich and Johnson go early - I wouldn't mind bringing Boss in here.

Here is a draftbook discussing Boss from various sources...

I agree he is an awesome athlete. The only problem is, are you ready to give up on Witherspoon as a starter? He played pretty well, except in coverage last year. Of course with Morgan's health problems his first two years, we might coul use another LB. He sure fits the mold of the type of LBs we like in this defensive system. The two guys I'd like to have most, Johnson and Gross, will most likely be gone, so if we can't trade, we'd have to go best available and that would most likely be Boss.

Yep, I agree. Getting Boss isn't giving up on Witherspoon necessarly. It adding depth. Anytime you can add speed and athleticism like Baileys you help your team greatly. IMO - that could be the best front seven in football in a couple of yrs. We need another OLB on the weakside IMO. Bailey or Witherspoon can backup both OLB positions and the other one start.

I don’t see it so much as “giving up” on Witherspoon as bettering our starting package and increasing our depth. WW could serve well as an all purpose backup.

Yea. Plus Bailey is one of the best athletes in the draft. If his only problem is tackling techinque - that can be taught IMO.

BTW: He is a bad tackler (m.o.) but here are his #s from last season...

    Senior: Tackles - 114 Tackles for loss - 11 Sack - 6

 Gimmie dat any day. :D

It might not be a bad idea. We never have been a very deep team. Anytime we've had an injury to a key player, we've had a drop off in talent and it's hurt us. I think Boss improves our depth and versatility, plus we could block some field goals and extra points with his 46" vertical. That's amazing, a good bit of the players in the NBA don't have a vertical like that!

Yes, he's Champ's brother. I work with a guy from Ga. that says they have a brother in high school that is as good an athlete as those two. I'm not sure of his name, though.

    Yea it is.

Gil Brant of NFL.com clocked the dude at 4.35 in da 40. If that is true this guy will be the fastest LB in the league.

    Here is the link...
    http://www.nfl.com/draft/analysis/individual_workouts#uga

Brandt says 44.5 inch vertical but whatever the dude is a freak.

I could almost see JDR picking him ahead of us, with his fascination of the speed he never had. That'd be great.

Us? Taking Bailey? Sure, some other guys'd have to be gone. But it could work out. WW as the eventual starter, at some point, with BB as the now guy? Love it. He's that type of cover two LB who covers the middle like a FS, which is an asset since the middle zone guy tends to cheat back some to compensate for the fact that the deep safeties are more in tune to the sideline. This is also why WW got abused in coverage at first.

And it's somewhat of insurance against Morgan, should we need it. Which I'm not getting into at all.
