    Looks like BluRay is winning?

Yeah I wouldn't suggest anyone buy HD-DVD at this point, it's going to die rather quickly now without Warner.

Target has already dropped it from their stores officially.

I got a killer deal on one in late Oct, it looks amazing and I'm enjoying mine, but it wouldn't be wise to buy hd-dvd at this point.

Warner all but killed HD-DVD's chances. Blockbuster was probably the death knell, but carrying 5 production companies to HD-DVDs 2 all but eliminates HD-DVD.

Awesome news for Sony.... I kinda wondered if the PS3 would fall flat on its face, but this will do wonders for them.

dont buy either unless you find a really really good deal. Im guessing by the end of 2008 the picture should be pretty clear. I read somewhere that getting Warner to br was a last ditch effort to get br caught up overall. br does have about 60 more titles more than hddvd on best buy website. If you have to get one, look at the titles each have to offer and decide from there. If hddvd does lose it wont hurt your wallet as bad as br losing. Until the porn industry changes to br then hddvd isnt going anywhere. porn killed beta. Just wish one hurry up and kill the other.

Toshiba needs to spit out a cheap dual format machine and end the debate.

wish something would happen. No one is going to go back and redo old movies until then.

If you don't currently own hd-dvds, I wouldn't buy a combo player. All of the hd-dvd movies will likely be released on Blu Ray in the future, perhaps with better transfers.

There are only two studios left producing hd-dvds, Universal and Paramount, who has one year left on it's deal.

This is coming from someone with like 30 hd-dvds. It's dying and soon to be dead.

edit: By that token, I would love for Toshiba to release a cheap combo player. I'd be all over that instead of a PS3 if it was a profile 2.0. Otherwise, I'll be looking for a used PS3.
