I can tell you who WON'T be picking in the first round next year. I'm not even sure we have a first day pick at ll.

Why is it so hard to get for you guys? We can't run the ball because teams will be doing exactly what Dallas did....double team Smitty and load the box for the run. Until our passing game away from Smitty becomes a threat, DW and JS are running against 8 in the box...and they are good, but nobody is that good. That is why Jake is such an issue. He doesn't throw well downfield and he rarely throws to his 2nd or 3rd option. Fucking Jim Brown isn't a threat when the whole defense is ready for him to run.

We had the same situation last year and ran the ball very well. We are getting a good yards per carry average when we run it this year. The last game was close until that late pick that was returned for a TD. There is no reason not to run the ball when you are only down 6 points unless you under two minutes to go.

It was discouraging to hear from Jaws and Moose that no one is is getting open. Better decision making from our QB won't matter if he has to dump down every third down.

    Hurney.

I think Fox is safe unless this turns into 4-12 or 3-13. Ultimately, the GM is responsible for the salary cap, and it's a cess pool. Hurney has basically flushed money down the toilet. The guys we've broken the bank for in recent years (Lucas, Wahle, Kemo) aren't even on the roster now. There's no way that he can survive this season. If he does, I'm officially quitting on this fucking mom-and-pop organization.

I really do not expect anyone to get fired. I expect them to turn this around and play decent football the rest of the season. I do not think they will be able to make the playoffs after starting 0-3 but I figure we will get close to 7-9 again. With the difficult schedule, injuries, and new defense it was going to be a rough start to the season.

I am not happy with what we have done so far this year but it was not really a surprise to me either. I think it can all be corrected though. If the defense would just start tackling well that would cure a lot of its problems. It is going to be soft against the run but better tackling would limit that somewhat. On offense they need to run the ball more even if they have to force it. If you play an 8 man front then you only have 3 DBs. If they put all three on Smith (just kidding) then someone will be wide open. I think Rosario needs to used more in the passing game too. He is probably our next best deep threat. Moose has lost a step and we need to stop running him deep.
