Tony Bruno is on FNZ now??

I think I read the Rosinki show was canceled due to lack of advertising...so that leads me to think as long as the Pack show gets advertising, the shows stays.

    it's just unbearable for me

I listen to 106.5 The End on HD2 a lot as my FNZ alternative

    FORMER PANTHERS ANNOUNCER

Syndicator pulls plug on Rosinski show

Decline in advertising cited for cancellation

Sports talk show host Bill Rosinski

Bill Rosinski's sports talk show was abruptly canceled by the syndicator and has been replaced temporarily on WFNZ-AM (610, 1660) by Tony Bruno of Sporting News Radio.
Rosinski said Wednesday that he was told by Danny Fontana, who syndicated the mid-morning show through his Charis Radio Network, that the show wasn't attracting enough advertising to make it profitable.
"It was not in his best financial interest to keep it going," Rosinski said. "I'm sorry it came to an end the way it did."
Casey Shannon, executive vice president of CRN Communications, said the show had been squeezed out of some Carolina markets because of aggressive competition from ESPN Radio, which pressured stations to carry their product.
At one time, the show was on four stations. But in the end, it was carried on only WFNZ and WBLO-AM in Greensboro-Winston-Salem.
"Its business model didn't work anymore," Shannon said. "We loved the product. We love Bill."
D.J. Stout, WFNZ's program director, said he got a call late Friday afternoon from CRN telling him the Rosinski show, which launched in July 2005, would be dropped immediately.
He picked up Bruno's broadcasts as an interim step and is evaluating what to do long term. "My preference is to stay local in that time slot," he said.
Rosinski, the Carolina Panthers' first radio voice, says he isn't sure what his next move will be, but won't have time to deal with it for a while.
He broadcasts NFL games for Westwood One radio and ACC football for Winston-Salem-based ISP Sports. He'll also be doing some ACC basketball for ISP, including the league's tournament in Charlotte in March.

    Chuck Howard to host a 1 hour show ? ? ? ?

Yikes, what can you talk about in 1 hour   ? ? ? At least make it a 2 hour show!!!!!!!!!! By the time you get on the air and set the agenda for the show and take a couple of commercial breaks, its going to be 11am!!!! Why not put Bill on locally from 10am-Noon ? ? Oh that's right the station can't afford more talent most likely . ..

    FORMER WCNC-TV SPORTS DIRECTOR

Howard to fill one-hour radio slot
Former WCNC-TV sports director Chuck Howard is returning to Charlotte airwaves on Monday.

WFNZ 610-AM said Thursday that Howard will fill the sports-talk radio station's 10 a.m.-11 a.m. slot.

In February, Howard was hired to oversee advertising sales for NASCAR broadcasts for CBS Radio stations WFNZ-AM (610, 1660) and WSOC-FM (103.7). He will remain in that role.

Howard left WCNC-TV in July 2006 after 11 years when he uttered a vulgarity after flubbing a taping and the outtake accidentally got on the air in a 5:51 a.m. sports cut-in.

Howard's new slot partially fills that of Bill Rosinki's show, which aired 10 a.m.-noon. It was canceled by its syndicator because it wasn't attracting enough advertising.

Chris McClain's "The Mac Attack" will expand, airing from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

too many GED rednecks love Packer. He is smart enough to cater to lowest common denominator

I miss the old 610 in the mid 90's with Matt Pinto in the afternoon.
