Broncos | Beuerlein Improving - posted at KFFL (http://nfl.kffl.com)
3:46 PT: The Rocky Mountain News reports Denver Broncos backup QB Steve Beuerlein (arm) has resumed on-field workouts. He hasn’t been throwing further than 20 to 25 yards, but he has good velocity on his passes. He plans to continue building his arm strength to be ready for the team’s upcoming minicamp on June 10-14

Great... In all my discussions about ole Steve, I never wished him harm... but really - who are we kidding, in regards to football... does it really matter if he heals or not? I mean what value can he possibly add?

Veteran backup. That's what.

Jim Kelly would be a veteran backup - so what? If your looking for veteran back ups, I would look at 2 primary criteria:

1. Career won / loss
2. 4th Quarter Stats
2a. (Red Zone)

When your back up comes in, if he is not a proven winner on the field what good does it do?

I'm not laughing :D - At this point in the game, Jim has as much a shot as Steve. (At producing a winning record)

;)

Thanks Y2 I'm sure the Broncos are happy that he's doing well. ;)

The Broncos will cut him by opening day... or keep him in the #3 spot...

Point taken Sandy, but are we getting into too-familiar territory? This battle's been fought a billion times. It's the same stuff again, so can I suggest we not go there? Your thoughts on Beuerlein are well documented, as are everyone else's, and your demeanor suggests you're very emotionally charged in this argument. It's not of bound to suggest that yes, Beuerlein healing or not does have impact on this Broncos team, and that discussing it is relevant. What's not all that relevant, however, is a continual arguing of what Beuerlein is and was in one person's eyes versus the eyes of another. I think we all know how each other views Steve Beuerlein and it may very well be in everyone's interests to leave it at that.

Well Maggy, you are right... but I may take more seriously your request if you direct it to the person that started the thread. This person knows all to well where Bline topics go... with or without me. Really, as long as the "regulars" keep baiting me, I'll take the bait... think back now... more times than not, I don't bring the guy up out of nowhere...

It be different if they posted that in Family Values or Todays news... but to suggest that his healing will have any impact for any team is simply not relevant to football... it aint happening... If they are allowed to suggest that it might, I should be allowed to suggest that it will not... IMO.
