Best football conference: SEC or ACC?

    My second best team? I'm a Charlotte fan. The only allegiance I hold to a college football team is to the Florida Gators.

    So, the second best team in the SEC (Florida or Alabama) lost to NC State at home?

    You are defending the Big East like it's your conference. I guess it looks like I am defending the ACC but I'm just looking at the number of ranked teams and who they have played.

    Any attempt I can find at rankng the conferences has the SEC far and above the first but ACC and Big East neck and neck.

    If the ACC sucks than so does the Big East.

    Yeah, the Big East does suck, but Cincinnati doesn't. They have at least one BCS Championship caliber team. The ACC's two best teams got beat by middle of the pack SEC teams on the same day.

    You can make a case for the MWC being as good as or better than the ACC or the Big East (clearly the BCS thinks TCU has had a tougher schedule). But, Cincinnati is going to a BCS bowl game, and if things had shaken out differently, they would have been in the title game, same for TCU. I don't know that Boise State would have gotten into the title game, even undefeated.

    The ACC doesn't even have a team that would qualify for the BCS this year. They are 2-9 in BCS bowls. They are not a BCS caliber conference. The big east, by comparison, is 6-5. Neither conference has ever gotten an at-large bid. The ACC has sent 4 different teams to BCS bowls (the lowest of all BCS conferences), but they do have one BCS title (from FSU).

    They don't match-up. The MWC has two at-large bids (duuuh) and the WAC has two. TCU and BSU will add to that number this year, most likely. The MWC is 2-0 in BCS bowl games and the WAC is 1-1.

    That is the reaction I was going for. Good job. It did take you a while, so congrats on being able to hold back.

    Show me one post that anyone made claiming that the ACC is superior to anybody. I'll wait.
