    Honestly, considering how unappealing the job was, it isn't a terrible choice off the scrap heap. He's the most recent coach to make the New York Giants watchable for a full season, even with a washed up Eli Manning.

    Jay Gruden would have been a better choice for tanking. McAdoo might be competent enough to keep the team in five win limbo. He's good enough to help the Panthers outperform rock bottom expectations, which was Rhule's secret sauce as a college coach, so this was the most predictable hire in hindsight.
