Besides looking for another cornerback to play alongside James, the Bengals also are in the market for another safety. Kim Herring was signed last week to be one of the starters. Pro Bowler Brock Marion visited Cincinnati last week and is interested in the Bengals but the team also has been talking to its own unrestricted free agent, Rogers Beckett. Beckett was claimed off of waivers from San Diego last year and eventually won a starting job. He finished fourth on the team with 87 tackles and added three sacks, two interceptions, four pass breakups and one forced fumble.

Beckett visited Tampa Bay on Wednesday, said agent David Caravantes, and will be in Charlotte to meet with the Carolina Panthers today.

I guess they consider him an emerging player. Looking at his gamelogs for 2003 I remain unimpressed. I'd rather have had Kim Herring.

    Gasp - not that!
Man, you'd have to be Adam Meadows to get that kind of exorbitant money from this team.
