So 10 mil divided by 3 years remaining. Would this include a medical bye out or be replaced by it?

    Question for the experts...

I really liked what I saw from Beason today at MLB, so I am happy if he remains. But what I'd like to know is how *smart* is this guy? If he is of above average intellect wouldn't it be good for him to be the MLB as he would have to make the defensive calls and adjustments? Of course time will be required to make the transition and learn the calls, but is his intellect a positive or negative in regards to the MLB position? And has anyone read or know how much of a 'leader' he was in college (and hopefully can someday translate onto the NLF lockerroom)??

I'm pretty sure he was known for both his intelligence and leadership at Miami.

My favorite part of Beason's day was how many time he made the tackle after shedding a blocker. Didn't matter who they sent. He was shedding them and continuing to fight downhill and attack the ball sidline to sideline. It would have been one thing if he was running free and making tackles, but this above all else makes me think that he will be able to keep up that kind of production.

I am not sure it was as clear cut as a we can only keep one but I think in reality it did affect us. If we had not signed Morgan then we would have had more cap space for Witherspoon. I am not sure I would have paid him what the Rams did anyway though. We would have been better off letting them both walk.

I was at the game, and Beason did stand out, but I thought Thomas Davis had a tremendous game. He had some great plays and had a game saving pass break up against reggie bush in the end zone, leading to the blocked kick. If those two can play like that every week, it'll be huge for us

Maybe Spoon wouldn't have cost as much had we moved sooner but paying him what the Rams did, goodbye WW.

It's very disappointing to see your team fuck up as royally as the Panthers fucked up giving Morgan his deal.

shedding blocks is a good sign. I'm actually a little surprised he's where he was this week, just in how he's able to recognize, and hope he keeps it up. Early struggles and playing late into preseason without looking that great gave me concern as to his lack of long term experience at Miami.

yeah, he had some good plays in space, and was able to come backside and make a stuff on Bush (?) as well. Nice work by him as well.

FWIW, I saw the interview of John Fox on Panthers Gameday last night, and he said that as soon as Beason lined up in the middle in that first practice last week, they knew it was the right decision. I can absolutely understand why they didn't try to rush the kid into that role (see Thomas Davis), but I believe he's there to stay now, regardless of how Morgan recovers. It only gets better from here folks.
