It seems very hard to ever guess what the Panthers will do in a draft under Fox. I'm not thrilled by the pick and then to pick a LB who has durability questions and hasn't run well. Just odd.

I would have thought Olsen would be excellent at that spot.

    Let's hope Beason is a good'un......

heard it was a possibility a number of times.

He's interesting. Aggressive, good run player, but small, so he has issues there. Reads the run quickly, doesn't seem to be as able v/s the pass. He's the type that will let a TE behind him.

He pursues about as well as anyone, despite his speed.

Guess he will back up Morgan? He played a little inside LB at Miami. Read that he led in tackles and he was the defensive leader on the field. I guess this is an ok pick.

Hope we can get Olsen with one of the 2nd round picks.

This reminds me of a couple years back when we chose Thomas Davis instead of Derrick Johnson. Paul Poz was my choice at this pick and spot but I don't make the decisions

    Not a real exciting pic......

but it bothers me some is what would it have cost to keep witherspoon and morgan....what will a 1st round LB cost us vs. keeping spoon and morgan?

Good pick. He's a good tackler, and game tape showed more speed than the combine. He wasn't healthy at the end of the year.

A replacement for WW, and a guy that can slide inside for Morgan. Small guy, but strong.

it would've been more, sure. and we needed to get younger.

I don't think we've replaced Witherspoon here. I think Anderson isn't necessarily the guy either, but he'll take long enough that we'll keep Beason inside.
