Well it's already started. Baseball teams that look to be out of the runnig are starting to shuck players. Cleveland just announced they are trading Bartolo Colon to the Expos. 5 for 1 Colon for Lee Stevens and 3 minor leaguers. Who's next

i'd say travis lee to the braves. tho, now that colon is heading to montreal, cleveland could look for some more young arms and take 1 or 2 off the braves. thome could give 411 on colon if montreal gets uppity towards the end of the year.

Thome is a Free Agent next year, Cleveland is also looking to deal Visquel, Burks, and Fryman.

Philly is looking to unload Rolen.

The Yanks and Red Sox are both trying to make a deal for Cliff Floyd.

Texas may unload Kenny Rodgers (Arizona are you paying attention?).

Hmmmmmmmmmmmm, the Blue Jays trade a player who was making $11 million this year and who was slated to make $12 million next year for a Double A pitching prospect . . . What the $(#&$*(#$(#$#$ ? ? ? This trade smells really fishy to me; I would think the Jays could've gotten another couple of players/another batter & draft pick for Mondosi . . . I thought dumping a player simply because he made too much money in exchange for almost nothing was 'against the best interest of baseball' (Bowie Kuhn back in the mid 70's nixed an attempted salary dump then A's owner Charlie ___________ when their dynasty run was running out of gas). I wonder if the Baseball Commissioner is going to look at this . . .


EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEErrrrrrrrrrrrr, I just remembered, Bud Selig (aka former used car salesman) is one of the guys . . . He doesn't see anything wrong with this 'trade' . . . .

The Jays readily admitted that this trade was about dumping salary. They're still paying half his salary the next 2 years.
