Au Revoir Mr. Gelinas/Canes to get new Radio-TV Contracts

[sds70]

Martin Gelinas is going to try the free agent market vs. staying with the Canes. Au revoir Mr. Gelinas, votre but d'heures supplémentaires contre les Feuilles d'Erable toujours sera se souvient de pour le mettre les Ouragans dans la Tasse de Stanley Finale . . . Nous toujours saurons gré !!!!

Au Revoir Mr. Gelinas !!!

Meanwhile, it looks like the Canes are levaing 850 THE BUZZ AND FOX SPORTS SOUTH!!!!! Their new radio flagship station will be with an FM station based out of Raleigh (either from the Curtis Media or Clear Channel owned groups). On the TV side, the Canes will produce their own games vs. showing them on FOX SPORTS SOUTH. I guess this means they will set up their own network of affiliates, correct?

I can see to a certain degree why they want to do this, but considering that the Hornets are now out of Charlotte, this should open up more air dates for the team!!! I don't see why the Canes couldn't see how many games FXSS would offer to air first before they take on the additional expense of producing the games themselves via CANESVISION (it looks like they will set up a network of cable systems statewide to show the Canes games on a select channel). I mean, you've got a lot of new fans after the Canes run to the Stanley Cup playoffs; Asking them to hunt their local cable guide now to see which channel the Canes-Caps game is being shown on may cause them to say 'Screw it!!!!' vs. keeping them on FXSS, where most casual sports fans know which channel its on in their area already. If the Canes go this route, hopefully they can get one of the CLT stations to pick up any games which are shown on free-TV (i.e. UPN46/WB55, which are owned by Capitol Broadcasting)
