    RHP AJ Smith-Shawver, a rookie is brought up to Atlanta, and Lucas (I'm a Horrible Pitcher) Luetge is sent down to the minors.

    The Braves closer did a monumental job of opening the scoring flood gates for the Tigers in last night's game.
    Morton had pitched probably his best game of the year in shutting out Detroit though almost 7 innings.
    Then the dreaded Atlanta clown parade of relievers started coming in and promptly allowed 6 runs over the next 2 and a third innings.
    Cheese and crackers Bravos!

    Ronald Acuña Jr. reached 50 RBI this season with his HR in the 1st inning. He joins Joe Morgan (1975) as the only players with 50 RBI & 35 SB before July since RBI became official in 1920.

    "During the Braves 7-5 win over the Arizona Diamondbacks, Strider posted a 13-strikeouts, giving him 354 for his career. According to ESPN Stats and Info, Strider has the most strikeouts by a hurler through their first 40 career starts since baseball moved the pitcher's mound to the modern-day distance back in 1893."

    Elder gave up a team hit for the cycle to the marlins in the first inning. Homer, triple, double and a single. He even threw in a wide pitch for good measure. Damn son. You're still playing for best league record.
