I've read some places that have said that Schaffer may have the CF spot by midsummer.

I imagine the Braves are hoping he does. Kotsay is probably just insurance till he does take over.

One of the keys for the season is Jeff Francour. He needs to keep improving at the plate and give the team 30 HR's. I think he will take his game to another level this summer.

The new Sporting News Mag ranked Frenchy as the #3 OF in the NL.

Schaffer will almost certainly spend a full season in the minors, and he needs to. They're looking for him to start in '09.

I'm being told that Mike Hampton is actually going to be ready for spring training. Hope he don't strain a nut 'till then.

Doesn't matter. New York getting Santana basically makes the N.L. East like the A.L. East. Barring huge injuries, the Mets and Phillies will be too hard to catch.

    Braves GM talking some trash

Was reading an article about Johan and they asked Wrenn his thoughts on the Mets new addition and he said, at least now the Mets have a pitching staff that is comparable to the Braves. :bigok:

Even with Santana, I would still prefer the Braves staff. Of course that's just my opinion. No doubt Colon will differ but who will know? He's on ignore.
