Why aren't knell downs considered sacks for the defense?

The Packers badly miss Adams, since none of their receivers can win a contested catch down the field. The decision to trade him away is the most bizarre move by a contender since the Panthers recended Norman's tag. So Green Bay might actually be in trouble this year.

With that being said, I think the New York Giants might be my favorite team to watch right now, especially on offense. They're smashing current football dogmas by exploiting the stuff that defenses are no longer practicing against, like the wildcat and designed run plays on 3rd and medium, and they're actually getting explosive plays from it. The fact that so many defenses have jumped on the "contain the run" bandwagon makes me think they can actually hang around for a while, plus they've now beaten both of last year's #1 seeds on the road/in a neutral setting.

It's considered a designed run since no eligable receivers are crossing the line of scrimmage.

I'm surprised the "fake kneel" hasn't become a thing, though. I saw the Patriots do it before the overtime Super Bowl against Atlanta and I haven't seen it since.

The Chargers are unwatchably soft. They don't even try to move people. They play every game like it's the Pro Bowl.

The Browns are dressed like giant blocks of shit today, which is appropriate for that franchise.
