With the Hornets out of the Coliseum now, I guess the city is going to try its best to fill up those empty arena dates. Didn't the popularity of the AFL last just a couple of years here with the late, great CHARLOTTE RAGE back in the early 1990's  ? ? ? Right when the Panthers came to town in 1995, didn't interest in the AFL died right then also?

Carolina Cobras Moving to CLT in 2003?

My wife's Uncle owns the Cobras. You guys just want to see the "snake charmers" up close & personal! Roddy's Dad, Seeby, just passed away recently too - heck of a guy, tremendous businessman - he only had 10th grade education, and give away much dinero (and his foundation will continue to do so) to education.

I'll let you guys know if I hear that a "deal is done".

See if you can sway your uncle-in-law to bring them down here. I'll be a season ticket holder the day they go on sale. Arena Football really does whip serious ass. You can sit real close, talk shit to the players, and they actually hear you. It's great.

FUCK THAT!! :nono: I LIKE THE COBRAS RIGHT WHERE THEY ARE!!

(but you are right about the snake charmers :1luvu: )

Sat. morning bump :) . . . . From today's N&O: The owner of the Cobras is saying that unless the ESA gives them a better lease deal, the team will still probably move to CLT in 2003. But then, what would happen in 2-3 years I-F the NBA returns to town  ? ? ? He's going to run into the same problem; the new Carolina/Charlotte______________ will get scheduling priority over his Cobras!!!!!

Are the Carolina Cobras Coming to CLT in 2003? It still may happen . . .

I've taken my kids to a couple of the Greensboro Prowlers arena football games (arena2 league) and we all enjoyed it. We didn't attend but one of my oldest son's high school teachers was playing on the Winston-Salem team (National Indoor Football League), truly a step down in competition. There was a huge fight one night where he picked up a smaller guy and body slammed him over the wall. Yes, he sat out the next game!

And these weren't too shabby to watch either....
