Had it since December. Have it on this test machine here at work and 3 machines at home.

I like it overall. Its not as big a difference as its made out to be IMO. I like Aero, but its nothing more than a look. It boots pretty fast. I like the security measures in place. It double checks EVERYTHING before making a move. All my hardware detected flawlessly. I've been able to play any game on it I want. Backward compatibility works MUCH better than it has in the past, but there are still a few apps that just won't run on it. Network set up is a little bit more aggravating than it use to be... well when you're not using DHCP, and the machine I have here at work needs a static address. I think I'm getting to the point I know my way around it so as I settle into that I like it more and more.

Had to work with sound on both my work PC and home PC, and had to get a new McAfee beta for the work PC. Compatability mode works much better than XP. Some stuff i thinked they changed for the sake of changing, which is where a lot of folks will not like it until they get used to it.

    But I like it.

You've got McAfee corporate don't you? 8.5i is outta Beta stage and works great. Go download it, or PM me for details if you need.

Yeah, Total Protection for Small Business. Having some trouble with the beta tray agent needing permission to run, but i'm still on Vista RC1. I was gonna bump up to release before i worried about it. i haven't deployed so it's not a big deal right now.

Does it look the same or are they trying to make it look and feel like a MAC.

If one wants to move to Vista are there any special precautions one has to take to prevent losing ones files, etc?
