    above the fireplace looks great but it's not "optimal" viewing. Supposedly puts strain on your eyes by having to look upwards.

    yep...too high up. it is supposed to be close to eye level.

    Overpriced. Should no longer be paying that much for 42" EDTV. Can get a Panasonic panel (with an off brand cabinet) HDTV plasam for that price.

    So what do you do to watch HDTV broadcasts? Or do you watch them at all?

    EDTV takes an HD signal and downscales it. From 8', it is difficult if not impiossible to notice a difference on a 42" display.

    Pretty much all I watch is HD.
