Any news of Moose?

If Moose leaves replace him with Derrick Mason for half the money after he's released from the Titans.

 

we already have a couple of Mason-like WRs. One is 9 years younger, the exact same h/w and should be around 4 or 5 mil cheaper . .. Colbert might not be quite as fast or talented but he would be similar enough in what Mason could do for us here. Then we have Smitty, and he is Mason minus an inch and about a million, and plus a smidge in a couple of stats. There are other Masonish guys who will be available and cheaper but how many Moose-like WRs will there be? How many who could do enough of what he has been doing for enough less monetarily to be worth seriously discussing? We don't have any other Moose clones on the roster and we wouldn't be able to just plug in a cheaper version without not getting what we didn't pay for.
IMO no one here has presented a realistic sounding "Mooseless" scenario that keeps our overall offense as strong and productive for a significantly less cap hit over the next couple of seasons. I'm feeling more and more like we are about to lose a key player without the means to effectively replace him again (see RT vacancy, James, and Grant).
