    They recommend you replace horseback riding helmets after ANY blow including dropping on hard surface, and every 10 years even without damage.

    Cycling helmets are generally recommended for replacement every 3-5 years, and absolutely after you crash. I have to replace my racing helmet because I hit the pavement in my old one.

    It's not just the outside, what gets degraded is the cushioning on the inside.

    I heard on espn this morning some player had a very similar case of frost bite on feet and was out "months" while a doctor looking at pictures of his feet said he'd be fine within a month. How much you want to guess he tries to use it to stay out longer. Since it was his own fault dock him game checks til hes back
