Honestly, Moose is already an upgrade over Colbert / Carter, so our offense is already upgraded. Additionally, I don't see how Jarrett can be worse that Carter or Colbert, so I think we're improved all around.

They did sign CJ Wilson again, I know he's a CB/S but if he can contribute in the return game, then Robinson could have a hard time making the roster.

And that may be what it comes down to, competition at KO/PR and at WR for him. I can see him losing out of both accounts, especially if they decided to bring in a clear cut #2 WR.

I agree completely about the active situation, and that's a concern. I've made that argument before. This year it caught Jarrett without being able to easily get on the field for ~5 snaps a game, something that could've helped him and would've been preparable.

That's a big worst-case, especially injury. Then we're not better than we were.

I guess the lower risk is a younger player, second day, because the investment is low and the immediate production doesn't have to be there.

I have a hard time seeing Robinson not making the roster. He's got plenty of potential to give up on now. Plus CJ Wilson has proven nothing at all.

As far as drafting another receiver, I doubt that we actually draft a guy in the 3rd or 4th and expect him to be anything more than a body the first year. Maybe I'm wrong, but our receivers hardly ever make an immediate impact in their rookie season, although they can come on later part.

Letting Robinson and Taylor compete for the 4th spot would make sense to me. I'd rather use the third or fourth on a back who can compete Day 1, although that would change depending on what we do in free agency.

Maybe Robinson is in trouble but they sure stuck with Colbert and Carter a long time, I don't see them quitting on him this early. And he looked pretty good towards the end. I think he's Smitty's backup.

Agree, but that's average case. Today I'm worried about worst-case. I don't want a guy to take too much time from Jarrett, so I don't know if it would be worth the money or time for anyone involved to spend on a Stallworth or Gaffney to have that player, or Jarrett, sitting in street clothes.

But we should have some better depth, I still feel.

Depth is always going to be an issue. If Steve Smith goes down then our passing game goes with him....

Stevie Wonder is an upgrade over Colbert, at this point.

that makes no sense. Robinson should big improvement towards the end of the year, and even helped some in the passing game. I'm betting he's a solid lock for the 4th receiver barring an injury. Because of that I don't mind a guy like Taylor sticking as the 5th (inactive). The only other option worth considering is taking a shot at an unproven rookie and let him "redshirt" a year.

Yeah, Taylor might be the last wideout. He's started before, we have him cheap, and he was a decent slot guy in Minnesota. Honestly, he's probably the best we can do for that spot.
