    I just don't get all the hoopla. There is no doubt that Sorenstam is the best female golfer in the world, so what is so wrong with her trying to see how she can do against better competition? Isn't that what athletics is all about? Now, if she was allowed to play from the women's tees like that crap that went on in Connecticut, then I would think this was wrong, but she is playing form the men's tees. And as for her taking someone else's spot - big deal. She is playing in the tournament via a sponsor exemption - so that means that the sponsor gets to invite who they want. And it is doubtful they would have invited some struggling guy from the tour - most likely it would have been a local pro. So give him the 500 bucks in sponsor goodies anyway and we'll call it even. The bottom line is that it is their tournament and they can invite who they wish (as long as it's within the rules).

    If I was a struggling tour player, who really needed some cash to pay some bills, I'd be pretty pissed off because a women took my spot on the men's tour.

    Patti, is your question designed to exploit the gray area that otherwise distinguishes the difference between the PGA and the LPGA?

    There in lies my point. But I do understand to a certain degree since there is a LPGA. But I understand Sorenstam too, if I had her talent I would be as aggresive as I could to go as far as my dreams could take me.
