I've always heard it's hell on adults. I've known 2 people in the last couple of months who've had it done and they say it was horrible.

Anyone have any experience with it?

Yea - I had mine out about six years ago. It was pretty heinous - complicated by a secondary bleed and I nearly died. I had to have surgery again to close it all off and lost a load of blood. Exciting times. Have you noticed that I can't just have straight surgery? I think I just like gift baskets :cheesy:.

Since you're a "bleeder," it seems like they could've taken precautions, preped you for it before surgery.

When I was 24. Untolerable pain when I woke. It felt like someone had taken a rake and clawed out the back of my throat. I had it done on a Friday and was feeling better on Tuesday till I started coughing and something busted open and I bled like a stuck pig. I called my doc who said to gargle with ice water and that stopped it.

BUT... it was well worth it. Only a rare sore throat these days.

Please try to keep your mind off of gay sex in this forum, Playa.

It was well worth it because I didn't have strep throat 4 or 5 times a year after they were removed.

Well, in fairness - it was my first ever surgery, so they didn't know how I'd react. I had no idea that two little stumps would bleed like a garden hose for so long. My kitchen looked like a crime scene.
