I'd need a lawyers help on this but Hardy was found guilty and Peterson pled no contest. How are they the same and how can Hardy expect not to be punished? I've heard he could expect up to 6 games.

I believe it has something to do with dates done vs date policy was enacted.

Hardy was found guilty before jury trial (someone in NC explain WTF that need an appeal to reach jury trial system is) but the case was dismissed after the accuser skipped town so he was never convicted. The NFL wanted their pound of flesh too but it looks like the judge's ruling is going to make that all the harder. Goodell has egg all over his face again.

I thought he was found guilty then requested a jury trial. What form of decision was he found guilty of prior to asking for the jury?

Quirky NC law, was found guilty by a judge of misdemeanor assault and threats to kill, he appealed the decision at which point it would have gone before a jury, the "victim" skipped town and the charges were dropped. in the eyes of the law, He's "not guilty"

It's a really stupid fucking procedure in the NC courts, but the fact remains that he's cleared of charges. Of course that doesn't matter one bit to D.A. Goodell.
