He's short, but his weight isn't disproportionate. Would be great to have an extra ten pounds, sure.

He's tiny, so starting him isn't ideal. If we could use him situationally, that would be great.

I am a Clemson Grad (1985) and been Panther PSL Owner since 1995, never felt any bad vibes at all. Then again, I live in Raleigh.

3rd round maybe, 4th definitely......imho. Whitehurst is the kind of guy that could end up having a nice NFL career if he finds himself in the right situation. He was listed in some long range mock drafts as a 1st rounder after his sophomore season, but when he tanked his Junior year that all went away.

I believe they rotated him w/ Simoneau at that spot, but I am fairly certain that Adams "started" each game. He made is way into the league as a special team maven w/ Dallas, where he was dubbed "The Bullet" by his teammates, and he will definitely be an upgrade in that capacity. So...

    SLB - Davis
    MLB - Morgan
    WLB - Adams

    or...

    SLB - Draft
    MLB - Morgan
    WLB - Davis/Adams

    ...or perhaps..

SLB - Seward (wouldn't want him starting, but I guess he's an option)
    MLB - Morgan
    WLB - Adams/Davis

Morgan is certain to be in and out of the line-up, so I'd prefer to keep Draft in the middle. That would leave us with TD, Seward, Adams, Ciurciu, and Tufts to fill out the outside spots. Any other ideas?

He also had 16 sacks that year.

he did start. If I could easily find performance pay figures, it'd be easier to tell how much each played.

more recent comments by Fox suggest that Seward is in competition for a job outside, not inside (which assumedly puts Draft inside). I'm fine with Adams backing Davis if both are at WLB, as I'd really like someone with a little experience imparting some thoughts on Davis.

Then again, Seward did play some WLB in preseason last year, and despite a late-last-season interview by Flajole saying he was a MLB, Seward himself backed Fox saying he was going to be an OLB, and that he'd like Will's old job. Simply out of size and matchups, you'd put Seward strongside, but it seems like that might not necessarily be the case. If things stand as they are, I guess you have Ciurciu at WLB, 2nd or 3rd string depending on where you put the two really young guys; you have Tufts at 3rd string MLB.

There's still the chance we go SLB or WLB in the first round (a guy like Ryans would work very well here, and Adams would give time to groom him if needed; Ryans or Sims should be there, but assumedly Ryans; Carpenter, IMO, might be there), but we're not married to it (and I didn't believe we needed to be).
There's a bigger need, a few actually, IMO. I don't know if I'd agree that line would be one (if we had the slightest chance at Winston Justice, I'd consider that, reaching for a guard would be despicable; a guy at the end of 2 or 3 that could play G or T is a sound idea, I guess, and would beat us drafting two guys), but the team may believe so; there's the RB fiasco, there's the 100:1 shot that we take a TE, there's safety, which I wouldn't put a 1st on Bing or Simpson at this point.

I keep reading articles (probably the same one) that says he had 101 tackles + 18 special teams tackles. NFL.com says he had 69. Pretty big differance there.

Teams and the league keep separate statistics on tackles. That's why the Panthers say that Morgan has had 8 billion tackles and the NFL only has him as an average middle linebacker.
