Adam Boone out

This has turned comical! Doherty is learning as a coach - no doubt about that. However, talent makes good coaches great, and Doherty is going to, and is, bringing in great talent. Morrison and Boone saw the writing on the wall (no PT) and bonked out. This team will be young and unproven next year but they may be the quickest team in conference too. Like i have stated many times, it will be 2003/04 season that they will make their return. BTW, expect Felton to be in CH for atleast two seasons. The NBA isn't banging down doors for 6'1 pg's. However, if Felton does blow up next year than you can expect that UNC will also have a good year. The Jackie Manuel thing was started by a dookie anyway. There was never any validity to that rumor. As a matter of fact, when Jackie was asked about it, he laughed and asked where that started. Doherty elluded to as much during his radio show the week that Morrison made his announcement. Heel bashers take all the shots u want, but make no mistake, UNC will be a force within the next couple of years.

 

Blue, I think the talent is important - first getting it (which Doh appears to be doing), and then retaining it. Why couldn't he talk "true blue" Heels Peppers & Curry into playing this season?

Agreed that the kids coming in are more talented than BMo and Boone and Fingleton, but if this team doesn't improve throughout the season, how many more chances does Doh get? I didn't see the "teaching" by his assistants (shown through games in the ability to execute any offense, or handle the press).

So far, I don't think Doh will get it done. I was a supporter when he was hired, but, the jury is still out. Will Doh still get good young talent, and just keep moving them through towards the NBA? Or will they wash-out and have to transfer?

You and Iam4 are putting a great deal of stock in unproven technologies. The market indicators aren't in your favor...
