Yeah, you'd win a popularity contest, but has anyone ever asked your opinion on a football question? I couldn't say that they haven't, but I haven't seen it. I've only seen people ask you to ask someone else something. Why don't you use your access to tell me what kind of coffee Hurney drinks, and in the meantime, I'll actually use some football knowledge to answer some questions and discuss some topics. We're all dying to hear that important news about coffee flavors, though, so don't think that shit isn't important. Your access is key, man!

    Peppers, Haslett differ on Brown

Carolina defensive end Julius Peppers and New Orleans coach Jim Haslett had a difference of opinion over how often Peppers was successfully blocked one-on-one by right tackle Jammal Brown.

Haslett heavily praised Brown's play, saying the rookie did almost exactly what New Orleans wanted him to do.

"The reason we drafted him is because Carolina has Peppers," said Haslett, who chose Brown in the first round of the 2005 draft.

Haslett then added that Brown didn't get much help blocking Peppers, giving the impression Brown handled him one-on-one on many plays.

Peppers, who didn't have a sack or a big play, disagreed strongly with that assessment Monday. He said he had a true one-on-one matchup with Brown "maybe once or twice" on pass plays, and most of the time the Saints chip-blocked him with a tight end or running back for at least part of the play.

"I don't know if he believes that or he's just saying that," Peppers said of Haslett. "I know what I saw. That's really all that needs to be said." -- SCOTT FOWLER

no need to quote the media...we just make shit up and dont tell the truth cause our sources always lie to us. I was standing next to Peppers when he said that too....but I dont know anything...

What do you think Peppers is going to say? That he got schooled by a rookie? It didn't make me happy, but that's what the tape shows. By all means, let's actually argue the facts. Go over the tape and show me all these instances where Peppers was getting double-teamed. I know that when I watched it, I was surprised at just how little that actually happened.

Do you remember that he was in a boot for two weeks before the game? There's no way Julius was 100% in the game Sunday. I hope he isn't doing permanent damage by playing, but if you think the real Pep played on Sunday, well, you're wrong.

I think you might be correct, but the fact is that even when teams do double-team Peppers, it isn't for the majority of pass plays. Casual fans tend to think that star WRs and star DEs get double-teamed constantly. Neither is actually true, as the film shows. My problem was with the suggestion that somehow Peppers is being prevented from making an impact by lining up at left end. That's simply not accurate.
