2006 Stats for Jake and Carr, just for some comparisons...

    Delhomme 06 Rankings
    QB Rating = 13th
    Passing Yards = 17th
    TD's = 18th

    Carr 06 Rankings
    QB Rating = 15th
    Passing Yards = 18th
    TD's = 26th

I started to do this just to show Delhommes stats, and that last year he was not a anywhere near a top QB.

But what I find most interesting is the minor differences between Delhomme and Carr, at least statistically. These players were playing in very different situations with very different supporting casts, yet Carr managed to put up numbers pretty close to our "Pro bowl" QB. After all, we were picked to go to the Super Bowl, they were picked by the most enthusiastic of reporters to win anywhere between 6-8 games.

    What say you jock carriers?

Nope. Of course, it does stand to believe that you'd lie to try to make your position "better", and in doing so, only dig yourself a bigger hole. Nice work again!

Don't remember anyone suggesting he was a Pro Bowl player last year. And of course you leave out that Delhomme missed games, where Carr didn't. Carr's supposed "awful talent situation" included a receiver who led the league in receptions. It was, undoubtedly, Carr's most efficient year, sure. In a year where Carr was doing well, Delhomme had slumped by everyone's expectations. And Jake still had a better year.

The "quotes" can go - he made a Pro Bowl. And sure - Houston was crappy last year. And yet they had a guy who led the league in receptions, and a better run game than we did.

I say that you have a tenacity that's admirable, and a stubbornness that makes you expose yourself as justifying an opinion instead of having some insight.

If you were looking to compare talent, which is what you're doing, you'd put up each guy's best numbers. You didn't.
Foregoing to mention that Delhomme was in the top 5 in TDs in 04, 05 was a nice touch, too.

Fair enough, here are their respective average numbers, Carr for his first five years, which obviously includes his rookie year as a starter, Jakes four with the Panthers...

Pct Yards TD Int Tkld Yards Rate

    59.82 2678.2 11.8 13 49.8 293.2 75.02
    59.65 3332.75 22.25 14.5 26.5 198.7 84.65

    Jake Delhomme:

    4 years and 62 starts
    92 Touchdowns
    63 Interceptions
    5-2 Playoff Record
    Super Bowl
    2 NFC Championship Games

    David Carr:

    5 years and 75 starts
    59 Touchdowns
    65 Interceptions
    0-0 Playoff Record
    No Super Bowls
    Now AFC Championship Games

So Carr has played 5 years to Jake's 4 years, Carr has 13 more regular season starts than Jake and yet 59 touchdowns to Jake's 92 touchdowns....OUCH!! Delhomme has been successful and Carr has bombed. Simple as that. He was a 5-year starter and got dumped. Maybe he can resurrect here, then again, maybe he was over-hyped and will never be anything but a backup. He is a hell of an upgrade over Weinke though so he improves the Panthers.

Yes....what are you trying to say??

Favre was in Atlanta for 1 year and never started, got in a total of 2 games.

Delhomme was in NO for 5 years and started 2 games.

Young started out with the USFL and went to TB in 1985 and started 5 games. In 1986 he started 13 games for TB and in 1987 he went to SF as a backup and spent 4 years as the backup. In 1991 he started 10 games and from 1992 until retirement he was the SF starter.

So.......what does any of that have to do with David Carr being dumped after starting 5 years for the Texans?

Is Carr the reason the Texans sucked?
