If his ego is part of the equation of building a roster, then yes, fuck him.

If the team could put forth a running game or show any ability to get a young/cheap guy to do anything opposite Smith it would be different. Then you can pamper him.

I remember how a few years ago, we were gonna sign Shaun Alexander. Everyone in here just KNEW it, and if we didn't get Alexander, Edgerin James was chomping at the bit for that next cchance to get into Carolina.

Troy Vincent was gonna be our starting free safety for years. We had one hell of an All-Pipe Dream Team.

He could have been here if the team wanted him. He went unsigned for quite a while that offseason.

the quote was more like "Hey, 89 and 85 equals Super Bowl. DeShaun Foster would never see eight men in the box."

It might have been ok, but if we were to bring Ocho Sinco into the mix I have a feeling resigning our o-line might be a bit of a struggle and therefore we would likely pay for it with an inept line.

The Pats were able to swing a trade with a player that had a relatively low cap number in Moss and of course Welker was never a huge contract, so it isn't like they broke the bank to get them....keeping them might prove to be different.

    My money's on Smitty.

I see zero chance of this happening. An asshat like ocho-cinco doesn't fit the Carolina mold at all. He ain't Randy Moss, no matter how hard he tries to be.

well, looks like it's going to be 85+89 after all

The Post, citing the insight of two unnamed NFL general managers, speculated that it would likely take a low first-round pick and a third-round pick, or perhaps two second-round picks, to acquire Johnson.

    I'd gave that...
