    82%.

This represents the number of drives in which Carolina, in their 20-7 loss to Tampa Bay, chose to run the ball on the opening play of an offensive series.

Remarkably, they did it on each of their first 9 possessions. The final 2 possessions started in passes, well beyond the point where a comeback was plausible.

All for running the football, but 9 of 11 (and 9 of 9 to start the game?)

    I mean, just sayin.

The coordinator's never learned the art that you are supposed to do what the defense is NOT expecting. Pass when they think run. Pass on 1st down.. 2nd down either one.. 3rd down let it be based on distance. That's still a basic philosophy, but it's still harder to defend rather than run run pass every time.

Better run the ball this week with the rookie starting... and it would be nice to get Otah back too.
