I had 2.4ghz Siemens phone system, SUPER nice. Had a 2.4ghz 802.11b network. SUCKED. Phones got really strange reception after 15 seconds or so, almost unusable. Turn off wireless, phones worked fine again. Wireless performance dropped when the phones rang.

Switched to 802.11b/g network, 5.xghz phones, no more problems.

You do not want to do 802.11a, not the right solution - most wireless peripherals are 802.11b or g, most laptops come with b/g cards built-in. Switch the phones.

The big issue? Having a neighbor running 2.4ghz phones near you...it's common, and it'll still cause problems...

If you get new phones, make sure they are TOTALLY non-2.4ghz. When I went shopping, a lot were 5.xghz in one direction only (amazing, but true), still did 2.4ghz partially...

    Good luck

Yeah, but you can't find new ones anymore... at least not nice new ones. I wanted a multi-phone cordless set (plug in base station only to line, have 8 cordless handsets wherever), couldn't find that in 900mhz...

Try umm overstock.com or one of those clearance houses. They may have some Uniden ones left. Not sure how many handsets you can get, but they'll be cheap.
