KG has the excuse that he has very little help. Kobe ran off his help. Kobe thought he was the reason the Lakers won those titles but it is becoming apparent pretty quickly that he was not the best player on those teams.

 

I must have misunderstood the original post. I assumed when the writer spoke of a monkey on the back he was referring to someone who has not won a championship. I didn't realize by speaking of a monkey on someone's back he actually meant who had to prove being the best player on their team.

 

That doesn't have bearing on the conversation. Bryant has three rings, and was still a big reason they got them. Whether I like him or not, or whether the lakers are good right now, doesn't matter - he's won championships.
