Blow the team apart is not quite right. More like the season. Just one of those "distractions" coaches hate. One that NEVER ends.

Football has nothing to do with the agenda they had with those memos.

And Dateline NBC made the stuff blowup.

the agenda is ratings, at the very least. It's irresponsible, whoever does it. Steussie was not a Panther in summer 2004, and they never once said that.

Sensationalistic journalism capitalizing on the roids controversy in another sport...you don't question the timing on this at all? Why not wait til right before training camp? Why not wait till sweeps?

How can you trust the story of a lady named after a piece of beef? "Mignon" Simpson? That's kind of like Porterhouse Johnson or Flank Smith. Stupid bitch.

I'll wait til the legal proceedings and NFL suspensions or lack of are handed down to make up my mind on this. I'm sure those guys used the substances, that's on them. I don't think you should give the team a huge black eye because of the actions of a few players. Is the world against the SF Giants? Sure, it's going to hurt their performance if those guys get suspended or whatever, but I really don't think we should be holding the team responsible for these guys. It's well documented that we really shouldn't rely on CBS for good factual reporting anyway.

And just when is it "gaining an unfair advantage over an opponent" when in all likelihood, there's a handful of guys on every team doing this shit. They haven't been caught yet, is the main difference. I know you guys really don't believe that it's ONLY 9 out of the countless Panthers who have come and gone since this doc started doling out these prescriptions.

Frankly my personal opinion of this is... its not NEAR as bad as I thought it would be. Some of you seem to be claiming the armagedon has arrived for the team. Maye it was just the fact I expected more, but I learned no more in the 60 Mins report than I did from the AP release yesterday.

I have a feeling after all this is done Sauerbrun will be released. May even get to training camp before he is, but he'll be elsewhere. Mitchell will get a slap on the wrist, but without solid evidence that he TOOK steriods he'll get his first pass. Steussie is a non issue. I'm curious as to any more info the DEA produces of any of this, but as a whole I think this will be blown over in a years time.

Oh, there's no doubt the agenda is ratings. That's what everyone who complains about these shows - all of the news magazines - being out to get them says. That's what they do. Current rage is roids? Sure. Exploit the hell out of it.

But I'm also pretty sure that I would not put my defensive eggs in the "She said he was Carolina Panther Stussie" basket. I still identify Terry Bradshaw as a Steeler. BFD.

Anyway, this probably still ain't all that big a deal unless someone goes to jail or the Panthers lose.
