well, thats up to you guys, but some of us do care about the team we have, and the character of the guys on it, and the example they set in the community. all that matters to you may be w's, there's more to this than how it looks to other people, it's how it looks to panthers fans, and how it is. i mean, it sucks. that's my opinion, not someone else's. and i do think its going to affect our w-L record. imagine all the shit the players will start hearing if we're haveing a good season and get in the playoffs. all the ?'s. is this team that strong?

I thought this was the one relevant piece of information from last night's 60 minutes.

Cooper: Testing for testosterone is difficult. Men naturally produce it in their bodies, but the levels very widely from one man to the next. So in the NFL, only players with testosterone levels six times above normal are flagged as potential violators.

Fisch: "It's almost like saying if the speed limit on a highway is 55 miles an hour, you're going to give a ticket to only those that are speeding over 100 miles an hour. You could be missing a tremendous amount of steroid use below that level."

Start 10-1 and no one cares. The season hasn't even started and half the folks in this thread are in denial. They'll cut the Panthers slack for beating a woman as long as she bats her eyes at the cameras when she talks.

Start 1-7? Nobody forgives you for shit. It will blow the team apart. You'll see steroid stories all season long.

What surprises me is the attitude many are taking by blaming CBS for railraoading us, the NFL for hating us etc. It pretty much looks like some of our players got busted red handed. Maybe they can claim they sold it but the point is they were getting banned substances that have been in the national spotlight for several years now in baseball. I wonder if the same apologists are apologizing and backing Bonds and company.

it's not so strange, given CBS' reputation, and the fact they never once make it clear that Todd Steussie was a buc in summer 2004. They're going out of their way to make it sound like it's only the Panthers who are doing this shit.

Yes, the players are retarded for doing it, but the reporting does need to be equitable and responsible.

CBS knows postal records can be checked... they would not have aired without some concrete stuff.

That there is some funny stuff, what it is.

When the evidence falls into their lap its hard to blame them. They can't make allegations against players from other teams with evidence that only points to our players. I'm sure they have nothing agianst the Panthers. If they had found what they did regarding another team it would have been the same.

You guys can go out on a limb and hope for it to be fabricated by CBS. Good luck.

You can buy testosterone cream over the net for that. The doses these guys were getting would put hair on a woman's chest.

well, if CBS hadn't been caught before using questionable tactics to further an agenda, then I wouldn't think twice about this. As is, there is some doubt in their integrity and motives. I'm not apologizing for the players being stupid, that's an entirely different thing. Disliking CBS' reporting tactics doesn't automatically make me a steroids apologist. I haven't cared for 60 minutes since they made that shit up about 87-92 GM pickups being prone to blow up because of the gas tank positioning.

I don't think anyone is hoping or even thinking that CBS is making this up, but is it too much to ask to specify that Steussie was NOT a panther in the summer of 2004 when he got those 8 prescriptions filled? That's irresponible reporting at best, no matter how many excuses you want to make for CBS.
