Smith still has speed, and I do think there's some value in veteran leadership. I do think he'll slowly get phased out as the season progresses, though. A lot of mouths to feed.

 

I still expect CMC to be one of our leading receivers, too. The Man With The Firehose Between His Legs is going to work that whiteboy to death.

I agree. I do think smith should have looked better, so far anyway.

But maybe in game planning, etc. and once the real bullets start flying, his vet exp will show, especially with zone coverage, which most times we see due to cam's running ability. If we go with 88, 3 wr, one back/hb (fb, rb or te - in for pro) and cmc going into routs - essentially flooding zones, it would be hard to beat. But you do need vet exp to flood the right zones on choice routes.

 

By the way, I'm not saying we should cut Anderson. I'm just saying that it wouldn't surprise me. I think it would be prudent to hold onto CJ just in case McCaffrey's preseason is a flash in the pan.
