The only possible thing I can think of was to practice it with in game conditions???? Or maybe Arians talking shit on us at halftime reached Rivera? But that seems unlikely.

Calling us the worst second half team to a sideline reporter, and saying that if they score in the first five mins of the third quarter will mean they will win the game seems silly to me. Maybe it was just a good ol' fuck you, but it doesn't fit Rivera's character.

 

In my opinion Rivera & Co heard enough "second half let down" buzz to get chipped up and make a statement. I for one have absolutely zero problem with the 2 pt try. If nothing else it gives them an extra live rep at a facet of the game that is becoming more prevalent.

If we failed at the 2 pt, took the kick, they could win with 3TDs/2pt conversions and a FG. With the two, they could only tie.

He could have been putting his foot on Arians' throat, since they went for two and acted like they could still win.

If he's have simply wanted to run up the score, no two kneel downs giving them the ball back, instead of kicking the high probability FG.
