I thought the TE from last year's draft was suppose to be the TE of the team's future?

What is your crazy draft day trade scenario?

I think SF will trade Purdy to the Steelers. How's that one for crazy.

    Yours?

Every GM will try to show how smart they are by wheeling and dealing. Should make for a fun, but confusing draft.

I watched a Steve Smith podcast today where they had maurice jones-drew giving his 10 best RBs in the draft. He had Omarion Hampton in the 10th spot. He said he was a fine runner that was very productive in college, but he rated him so low because he was slow to stop and slow to start.

This is my last mock draft. Here's what I think will actually happen.

Round 1: It's going to be Jalon Walker. If he's gone then it might be Mason Graham, but he will probably be gone also. In a worst case scenario, everyone we want is gone and no one will trade with us. If that happens, my money is on Mykel Williams. Outside of Graham, I think I'm going to be as disappointed with this pick as I was when we went with a Linebacker instead of Fletcher Cox.

Round 2: I think the top three Safeties will be off the board by the time we pick. There's no way of knowing, of course, but if one is available I think he's the pick. But it's more likely that we get to choose between Carson Schwesinger, Jaylin Noel, and T.J. Sanders. There is a VERY outside chance that J.T. Tuimoloau is either available or within striking distance to trade up for, but that's probably a pipe dream. There isn't going to be a good edge rusher here, and the cornerbacks in that range are most likely going to be Azareye'h Thomas maybe Benjamin Morrison. Neither of those guys are real great fits in Evero's scheme. I think that the pick is probably going to be Noel, but if Schwesinger is available they'll take a long look at him. If those guys are gone, count on it being Sanders.

Round 3: If Mukaba is still available, he's the pick (assuming we didn't get a Safety in the second). This pick is prime Kevin Winston Jr. territory as well. If we are thinking receiver, my money is on Kyle Williams. Jayden Higgins should be in this range, as well as Elic Alomanor, but neither of them is as good a fit as Williams. The third is also a good place to look at the Defensive Tackles, as one of Tyleik Williams, Alfred Collins, or Darius Alexander should be available. We could take a look at Jordan Burch here, but the last project Edge guy we got from Oregon in the third could serve as a cautionary tale here.

Round 4: We have two picks here, and they're close together. I think that by this time, they should have addressed the secondary but even if they have, Zy Alexander will be sitting there and it's possible that Billy Bowman is also. If they took a receiver on day two, then it could be those two guys here. If they're still looking for a receiver for Bryce, Tory Horton is a possibility. Savion Williams is also gonna be around, but I think he's a little unrefined and probably not as high on our board as Horton. Other intriguing names here are Charles Grant and Deone Walker.

Round 5: We have multiple picks here as well. At the top of the round, I think Cody Simon and Danny Stutsman are strong candidates, as we do need help at Linebacker. Jordan Phillips could develop into a solid NT for us, and he should be around when we pick here as well. Jamaree Caldwell is another guy who fits that profile as well. This is also where I think we start looking for OL depth, and potentially a running back (but honestly, I don't think we draft one this year). Sai'vion Jones has decent potential at the edge, but he needs coaching up. For our last pick in this round, I think it's going to be a guy with a future on Special Teams.

Round 7: We're gonna take a project here for sure. I'm not sure if it's another defensive tackle, but I do think it's a defensive player. This is a good place to gamble on a Safety who can also play Special Teams.

In first round, trade down or not, I want someone explosive for the front 7 on Defense
In 2nd round, maybe a safety, DLine or WR
3rd round, I want an OT

I like Breer, but man, I can't hardly believe that Warran, Walker and Graham would be there.

EZ has good size for an OLB. He is not ever going to be a 43 DE. Having watched every one of his snaps at Boston College, EZ’s pass rush is creative, multi-faceted and diverse —- a nifty toolset which allows him to get to the QB with combinations of speed, power and finesse.

But there is no finesse about him in the way he attacks the run. He sets a hard, physical edge, hold his ground like a pro even when he’s tangled up with offensive tackles, because he is able to use the strength of his long arms and rock-solid core to his advantage.

Quite frankly, I have never seen an edge player at Boston College play the run and rush the passer as well as EZ did this past year. The numbers are remarkable:

    • 80 tackles —- (only 5 missed tackles, 7.2% missed tackle rate)
    • 21 tackles for loss (#2 in USA) —- only 5 missed tackles, 7.2% missed tackle rate
    • 42 stops
    • 3 forced fumbles
    • 60 QB pressures
    • 16.5 sacks (#2 in USA)
EZ’s “RSWR” (run stop win rate) in 2024 was a blue dot 10.1%, which puts him tied at the top in the RSWR category among the most highly touted edge players in the 2025 NFL Draft:

    2024 Run Stop Win Rate

    • 10.1 % —- Donovan Ezeiruaku
    • 10.1 % —- James Pierce Jr.
    • 9.4 % —- Mike Green
    • 9.3 % —- Landon Jackson
    • 8.6 % —- Princely Unamnielen
    • 7.6 % —- Mykel Williams
    • 7.6 % —- Abdul Carter
    • 7.3 % —- Nic Scourton
    • 5.5 % —- Shemar Stewart
    EZ’s Production at Boston College:

    • 2021 —- 21 tackles, 4 TFLs, 3.0 sacks —- overall grade: 61.9
    • 2022 —- 61 tackles, 15 TFLs, 8.5 sacks —- overall grade: 83.1
    • 2023 —-53 tackles, 7 TFL’s, 2.0 sacks —- overall grade: 75.1
    • 2024 —- 80 tackles, 21 TFLs, 16.5 sacks —- overall grade: 90.1
    Career: 215 tackles, 47 TFLs, 30 sacks
