"The Dallas Mavericks moved past the Luka Doncic trade in resounding fashion Monday by winning the NBA draft lottery and the accompanying right to select Duke's Cooper Flagg in June with the No. 1 pick.
The Mavericks had just a 1.8% chance to win the lottery and jumped 10 spots to grab the top pick, the biggest move by any team in lottery history, according to ESPN Research.
San Antonio -- with back-to-back rookies of the year in Victor Wembanyama and Stephon Castle -- will pick second, Philadelphia will pick third, and Charlotte will pick fourth."

So the Hornet curse is still active.

The Mavericks were 39-43 and got the top pick. The Hornets were 19-63 and got the fourth pick. I don't think the NBA cares about parity because they are a star driven league.
The Mavericks have had 5 losing seasons in the last 10.
The Hornets have had 2 winning seasons in the last 10.

Utah was worst team in the league and they are a slot or two behind us.

    According to a mock...

    4. Charlotte Hornets

    VJ Edgecombe, guard, Baylor

Kevin O'Connor, Yahoo Sports: "Edgecombe is an explosive, high-motor wing who flies out of nowhere for poster dunks and chase-down blocks. He pairs his elite athleticism with a knockdown spot-up jumper and fearless slashing. Edgecombe needs to improve his shot creation to become more of a primary creator, but that’ll matter less in Charlotte as long as LaMelo Ball stays healthy."

    I'd be shocked.

I would love to see Edgecombe on the Hornets.

The second round could produce some starter material given the fact that the Hornets have picks 33 and 34. The players drafted last year were drafted to be projects. I think this year's crop of talent is much better overall. I'm hoping for better than Salaun and Simpson. Even though as far as rookies go they did contribute, but that was mainly because of starter injuries... again.
Just for reference Salaun was picked at #6 and Simpson was at #42.
