I think spending draft capital on an incredible Oline would pay dividends beyond reaching for a QB.
If Cam does not shit the bed, the crazed fan base will want him signed to big money. I doubt his shoulder got better, so hoping they does not happen personally.

Get a great Oline, then many QB's can work, may not excel, but we won't get them killed Sunday after Sunday

Spencer Rattler enrolls at South Carolina in an effort to resurrect his career. To think that last year at this time he was looked at as the next #1 overall pick by a lot of people...

Is Biggie Fitty going to work more Draft Day magic and pull some extra draft choices out of someone's arse?

Speaking of drafting a QB, last year's QB picks mostly have a long way to go other than Mac Jones.
Again he did fall into a decent organization. I thought Lance did as well, but Jones is the only one so far making the most of his chance.

So here's what I think after watching youtube during scrum meetings while I'm supposed to be paying attention. IMO, these are the only QBs worth taking a flyer on in 2022. It's a smaller list than it was last year at this time. I listed them in order of how much I would like to see them on the Panthers next year.

FWIW, I think we draft in the top 10, but I can easily see Fitterer trading down in the first and picking up a second or third rounder. I don't think that more than two of these guys go in the top half of the first either.

Matt Corral, Ole Miss. 6'1", 205lbs

Corral's best attribute is his constant and steady improvement as he's developed in the system. He has a great arm, and can make all the throws. Good RPO QB, he's a good athlete in general and can run well. He's not Lamar Jackson, but he's good enough to salvage broken plays and even work in some designed runs. With that said, he's a little on the small side to be a regular runner in the NFL, but his decision making is great so he probably won't have to be. He will likely be the first QB off the board, unless someone is drafting solely on attributes. If we forgo Offensive Line in the first and take him, I'll be ok with it. I think he will be a decent QB in the pros who can develop into a franchise guy.

    Kenny Pickett, Pittsburgh. 6'3" 220lbs

Meet the 2021 version of Joe Burrow. He's consistent and reliable, and while I doubt he's going to be a star he should be at least an Andy Dalton level player in the league. He's good when the play breaks down, and in general is a heady player. He's only got one great year of good college production though. His deep ball needs some work, and in general arm strength is his biggest criticism aside from the one-year wonder talk. If he's there when we're drafting, don't be surprised to see Rhule pull the trigger because he recruited him heavily in high school. I'm really not sure how I feel about that. I would like a Joe Burrow level QB, but I'm not sure Pickett is that.

    Carson Strong, Nevada. 6'4" 215lbs

I like Carson Strong. I also liked Mac Jones. I firmly believe that there's a place for a statue as a QB in the NFL as long as he can make all the throws, and that's Carson Strong to a T. To his credit, he can move around in the pocket, but he's not going to take off and run for the first down. His lack of mobility will hurt his stock, but it will also make it more likely that he will fall to a team that has a decent offensive line, so he's probably going to have a decent to good rookie campaign. I can really see him in Pittsburgh as a Ben replacement in round two. He won't be a first rounder because of his injury history. I've seen pro comps for him as Matthew Stafford, and I can see it in watching his highlights. I wouldn't mind us taking a flyer on him in the second round if Fitterer trades down in the first.

    Desmond Ridder, Cincinnati. 6'4" 215lbs

I just hate this guy, but mainly because of where he was last year and the way people were overhyping him. He's actually kind of good, I just don't know how good. Like Corral, he's shown steady improvement every year. He's built like a Tight End, and can run really well, although he doesn't have blazing speed. Probably better legs than anyone in the class outside of Malik Willis. Really strong arm too, but he can lack touch on some throws. Also, doesn't have the best accuracy, which is crazy to say because he completed 66% of his passes. He's probably still a day two prospect, but coming back and playing in 2021 did help his draft stock. I don't want him on the Panthers, we already had Will Grier and Ridder's wife isn't as hot.

    Malik Willis, Liberty. 6'1" 215lbs

This is the raw talent guy who will be over-drafted by a young offensive mind somewhere. Hell, he may be the second QB taken, which will be a mistake. He has a great arm and can make big throws look effortless. IF he develops well, there's no doubt he can be a franchise QB in the NFL. Big IF there though. He has outstanding rushing skills, which is a good thing and a bad thing. He's in love with his running, and sometimes that can get him into trouble. Interceptions are a problem too. Still, he has the most upside in the draft, and if I felt like the Panthers could develop a young QB I would love him. I don't though, so I don't want him.

    Sam Howell, UNC-Ch. 6’1 225lbs

Sam's had a bad year but he did lose his entire running game in 2021. I won't bore you with any analysis, just that he's described as Baker Mayfield light and I can see it. I don't think he will find running in the NFL to be nearly as easy in college and I don't think his arm is anything special. Good decision making though, I will give him that. So while I don't think he's the best QB in the class, he may have enough good stuff between the ears to carve out a nice career in the NFL. I don't want him though, because Carolina fans are already annoying as fuck and his talent isn't worth dealing with them. With that said, he's probably going to go right around where we will be picking if we trade down, and he will put butts in the seats, so don't be surprised if he's our guy.
