Wonder what the chances are Tepper and the new GM would try to trade up?

Oh, ye of little faith. There’s a history of fantastic moves like this that abounds within the organization.

That one’s pretty reasonable, and Farley would make a huge difference in our secondary. If the board fell that way though, I would not be surprised at all if Parsons was the pic.

Sorry but I think that’s ridiculous. Three QBs in the top four picks?!?? Four in the top 10?!? Five in the top 20?! If that happens then four of those five teams have guys from The Huddle in charge. There is just too much top-tier talent in other positions to justify gambling on a QB (other than Lawrence) in the top 20. Lawrence is the only one who has repeatedly proven to be a winner against elite competition. .. He’s the only one that meets ALL the criteria to be an elite NFL QB, and can be an upgrade in the first weeks of 2021. All the others are gambles/projects.
We’ll see how Fields and Jones look tomorrow. Would either of them have looked much better than Trask did last night? His three main targets missing, drops, wrong routes, no running game, poor blocking, and a nonexistent FL D?!? He was on an island against a complete and well prepared top 10 foe. Lawrence would not have been good in that situation either.

If Farley, Parsons or the second best OT are available then the panthers should pick ANY of those over a damn QB project. Please let others gamble on a first round overhyped QB! The panthers (and many other bad teams) have too many other serious weaknesses that have to be upgraded immediately.

Lawrence, Fields, Sewell, Surtain, and one of the top WRs are going to be gone very early. When we pick there's a good chance that the #2 OT, a solid press corner or a promising project QB will be available. A lot depends on whether Detroit and/or Atlanta want to start the process of moving on from their QBs.

Even Lawrence isn't going to save the Jags by himself. No one player will make all the difference, we need to just assemble the best talent we can. The 8th pick is a good spot, the last few selections there were Isiaih Simmons, TJ Hockenson, Roquan Smith, and CMC.
