2019 NFL Draft Running Commentary

The DT pick was questionable too. They need pressure.

 

So from everything I've read and from what I've seen so far from his YouTube clips, Burns is a faggot against the run. I don't like soft ass shit, so I have some reservations about taking this guy so high. Hopefully his speed rush prowess outweighs the flaws which are sure to be exposed in the NFL.

 

I was worried that he'd be another Mingo early on, but he put on 20 pounds before he went to the combine and his numbers were still good. His 40 was actually faster.

I'm going to adapt a cautious optimism around the pick for now. If he works out we're going to have a very good defense.

 

Yeah, but that's an insane diet he went on, and he still couldn't quite get to 250.


I'm not saying I hate the pick, necessarily. I'm just pointing out the obvious drawback. At 16, you'd like a complete player who doesn't have a flaw that an NFL offense can expose at will. He is a legitimately awesome looking speed rusher, though. Hopefully we're ahead enough times for it to be useful.

 

It's sounding a lot like the Manning family had a heavy hand in the Jones pick, and it sounds like Eli will be able to finish up his career in New York while a family friend holds the clipboard. Nice.


I guess they threw Dave a bone by letting him take a big fat guy with the other pick.
