2018 Free Agency Running Commentary

It comes from the "YOU GOTTA DO SOMETHING" mentality that causes most GM's to make awful decisions.

 

I can't believe Gettleman got another GM gig at 67 and I can't believe Marty Hurney is our GM again. Those two things together are the most surrealistic things I've seen happen over the last decade, including Donald Trump becoming the President of the United States.

 

I saw Gantt at the combine. He really does look just like Rasputin with his beard. It's disturbing. I wonder what his list looks like. My guess:

4) Herald Journal editor
3) B&B
2) Moose
1) Abusive

 

That's the look on his face as he's torturing his victims.

It doesn't take much to push a man over the edge. A chain of events happening in a man's life at just the right time can make him vulnerable. You find your wife in bed with an above-average possession receiver. You get demoted to covering Winthrop volleyball, and eventually fired. Your TBR correspondent and confidant betrays you. If these things happen over the course of a lifetime, you could chalk it up to normal human suffering. If they happen all at once, however, it can make a man cruel. Good men become bad when their world no longer makes sense






I actually do like Moncrief as a free agency flyer. He's got the speed and he's good at adjusting at the deep ball.
