Gettleman says cap-related decisions must be made with 2014 deadline and 2015 deadline in mind as well to set up team for the long term.

Gettleman says he'll use free agency to get position team to take best available player in draft rather than picking based on position need.

Gettleman said Panthers have reached out to DT Dwan Edwards, who's an unrestricted free agent.

UNC G Jonathan Cooper measured 6-2.5 and 312 lbs in Indy. Says he ate a lot of burgers this offseason, has "a little more butt behind him."

Besides eating, Cooper says he's been working on snapping to show teams he can play guard or center.

    speculation?

mine would be WR and S. positions we are solely in need of help and would be reaches in round 1. the better WRs I expect would be gone by the time we draft in round 2 and safetys would probably be a reach here too. we don't have a 3rd to take a shot at finding another diamond in the rough like Armanti there.

i haven't looked at any of these guys yet but it seems there's a real good shot at getting a good DT in round 1. round 2, i think by the time we draft the better WRs are gonna be pretty well picked over. CBs, OL, LBs can be good bets here and we have needs there.

getting significant upgrades at WR, S and DT would be huge. plus, getting a really good CB, RG, RT or LB would be a really nice bonus. then we can talk SB!

    That's basically any Fox interview.

But yeah, he's almost 60. With the years of stress and drinking/partying, his vital organs must be a fucking disaster. Plus orange makes anyone look awful.

Why do people keep saying this? WR isn't a need at all. You could still take one if you thought a WR was best on the board at #14 or in the second round, but it's not a need. Smith & LaFell are quality starters, and there already aren't enough targets to go around as it is.

Plus there's Olsen, who's a wide receiver everywhere but the depth chart.

Depends on who gets cut. DT is the obvious choice unless Milner drops. DT then a corner
