    Some of these guys aren't on the team anymore. It should read:
    Carolina Panthers: Jeremy Shockey, tight end;
    Derek Anderson, quarterback;
    Geoff Hangartner, center/guard; Omar Gaither, linebacker;
    Cletis Gordon, cornerback;
    Legedu Naanee, receiver;
    Antwan Applewhite, linebacker;
    Mackenzy Beranadeau, offensive line;
    Dan Connor, linebacker;
    J.J. Jansen, long-snapper;
    Jordan Senn, linebacker.

    Is there anyone we NEED to resign? I don't think so

    no one above being replaced there. Not against many of the roleplayers returning, however. I want better end depth but there's no reason not to keep Applewhite, for instance.

    Assuming we're running the same offense, Anderson needs to stay if he is okay with being the backup. I'd like to see a late round pick spent on a mobile QB project.

    I'm OK with Anderson staying as well. The mobile backup idea is an interesting one - is that an "in case Cam isn't playing" deal? Because we do, if we're just that determined to play the option, have Armanti.

    As much as I like Jordan Senn, I don't think he's good enough to start on a consistant basis.

    Yep, backup for Cam in the future, maybe even develop the guy for a couple of years so if we have major injury or even if Cam gets the ass and tries to force a trade, won't re-sign, etc., we have a backup plan.

    Not counting on Armanti sticking around, to tell the truth.

    edit: Assuming we have Chud for multiple years, which I doubt. Maybe Shula could run that offense.

    you wouldn't bring a guy like that back as a starter. For all his positive plays, he had a lot of negative ones too, and for as active a guy as he is, he's just getting started in coverage - may never be good. You would have him as a special teamer and depth - as a matter of fact he was lights-out fantastic as a special teamer once, no idea why he hasn't shown up more recently.

    Anderson wouldn't be terrible as a short term starter as needed. He was the best QB in camp.

    I agree, matter of fact I advocated him starting out the year.

    I'm thinking longer term on the mobile guy.

    Senn- not a starter but showing signs of being a good young role player, those aren't easy to find

    DA-if he's willing

    Applewhite- another good role player, for the right price

    Shockey- no longer a star but damn good depth player

    The rest of the ham and eggers can go.
